Water & Sewer Maintenance Worker 1

Salary Range $30,617 - $43,262 DOQ 

This position works under general supervision as a member of a crew performing a variety of semi-skilled and limited skill manual labor work in the maintenance of municipal water distribution and sewer collection systems; and the installations of water/sewer services and related facilities; performs related work as required.  Duties include clean out lines, locating lines, making water and sewer taps, repairing leaks, delivering chemicals to water plant, doing minor landscape work after installations or repairs, and assist in loading and unloading pipes, and helps in other divisions of public works as required.  Work may require the use of a utility truck, chainsaw, pipe tapping machine, pumps jack hammer and various hand tools.  This position reports to the W&S Supervisor.  Requires the ability to perform heavy manual work in varied weather conditions. Valid NC Driver’s license required. EOE/AA/Handicap Compliance Pre-employment drug screening and physical required.
