Salary Range $32,811 - $46,362 DOQ

Under general supervision performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of City grounds, buildings, equipment, and facilities; performs related work as required.

Performs preventive maintenance and repair on all City facilities, equipment, grounds, and structures; determines that equipment, supplies and materials are available and ready for use; performs varied tasks with regard to the repair and maintenance of City grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment; constructs, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of City equipment; paints, repairs and City buildings, City equipment, and other related facilities; performs minor mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance on equipment; performs plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work; repairs furniture, equipment, and building hardware; checks difficult maintenance problems; prepares maintenance activity reports as required; plans work requirements and maintains records of work activities; maintains an inventory of supplies, materials and equipment; performs other duties as required.

Considerable experience in the general maintenance field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment by observation; ability to operate light equipment; ability to work independently; ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public. Valid North Carolina driver's license. EOE Handicap Compliant, Pre-employment physical & drug test required.
